New York City Public Schools (Â鶹AVPS) provides Progress Reports on public school performance.

Each school receives a letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F) based on:

  • Academic achievement and progress of students
  • Results of a survey completed by parents, teachers, and students

Â鶹AVPS also conducts Quality Reviews of public schools. These reviews examine how well each school is creating a plan to address its students' strengths and weaknesses.

Each year, the Â鶹AV School Survey gives families, students and Â鶹AVPS staff the opportunity to provide feedback about their school.

School leaders use feedback from the survey to reflect and make improvements to schools and programs. Survey results are also used to help measure school quality.

The 2026 Â鶹AV School Survey opened on April 1.

The survey is open to:

  • Parents/guardians of a child in 3-K, Pre-K or grades K-12
  • Students in grades 6-12
  • Â鶹AVPS staff

You can access the survey online with a survey access code, which you can obtain from your school. If you have a Â鶹AV Schools Account, you can also login and take the survey through your account without an access code.

Families are urged to complete the survey online however, you can contact your school to inquire about a paper survey.

A survey should be completed for each child a parent has in school for grades 3K through 12. Families and students who need help with completing the survey should contact their school or parent coordinator.
