How to Apply

Online

Permits can be applied for electronically through DOB NOW.

An eFiling account is required to submit filings in DOB NOW.

In Person

Download the PW1 Plan/Work Approval Application form online, and submit it to the DOB Borough office where the work is being done.

By law, excavators and contractors working in New York City must contact New York 811 at least 48 hours before beginning any digging or excavation work to ensure that underground utility lines are marked. For safety reasons, homeowners are also encouraged to call before digging on their property.
